Every so often, one of our employees will introduce you to his or her line of work and share some helpful tips.This week features Homi Behjat from the Business Development Department of Testbirds in Munich. As a business development manager, Homi is in charge of the UK market.Origin/Background:I was born in Iran but have been living in London for 34 years, and love every bit of it, even the not so pretty parts. Did my first degree in Philosophy and Ethics and later an MBA. What you do at Testbirds:Business Development for the UK marketCurrent Computer:A Lenovo ThinkPadCurrent mobile device:iPhone 5, iPad miniOne phrase that best describes how you work:Caringly, becasue if I didn’t care, I won’t be here.A typical work day consists of:I am up at 6:30 every day, showered, dressed and ready for my coffee by 7:30. I have a three espresso shot Mocha every day unless I am away then any super strong coffee has to do. My laptop is on before 8am, most of my colleagues are based in Munich so it is nice to start early.I like an organised and structured day; so my time neatly divided, I start by going through my activities from the previous days to check I have not missed anything. Then start by calling prospects, emailing, and webcasts, though that order may change. When I am out for meetings I make sure I can get to a place with good WiFi connection to check emails, messages, etc… What apps/software/tools can’t you live without?WhatsApp, I use it all the time.What’s your work space setup like?The way I can see everything.What’s your best time-saving shortcut?My notes on my phone and of course Ctrl C & V!Besides your phone and computer, what gadget can’t you live without (and why)?Mobile battery charger, it’s a life saver.What everyday thing are you better at than everyone else? What’s your secret? I have an excellent memory, always know what was said, where and how it was said (people’s tone of speak says a lot about them).What do you like to do outside work?I do like to run when my knees allow me, travel as much as I can and I have a large family so I spend a lot of time with them.What’s the best advice/life motto you’ve ever heard?Do not judge people, just don’t. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?Leonardo da Vinci, how on earth did he know so much?? On a serious note though Warren Buffett.
