Flashback Friday: The Modem Dialup

by | Sep 19, 2014 | Terms from the world of IT explained | 0 comments

Nowadays, we are constantly connected to the internet. Most of us could’t work without it and thanks to smartphones and tablets, we are “always on”, available for our friends, families and even colleagues at all times. It’s hard to imagine things were a little different not so long ago.

Do you remember when we had to manually connect to the internet? It was barbaric.

You had to chose between using the phone and going online.
You waited anxiously for the modem to establish a connection.
You cursed this almost alien sound.

And you cannot help but smile when hearing it now.

Enjoy!
