The Deutsche Telekom uses test automation with Testbirds. In the video on the cooperation Alexander Gunnar Kiefer, technical project manager at Deutsche Telekom GmbH, shows the reasons of using test automation, explains the benefits for the telecommunication company and reveils some best praticses for other companies.

Since 2015, the Deutsche Telekom is working on optimising their e-mail products. If you are a private customer of the company and have an e-mail address with …@t-online.de at the end, you directly benefit from the testing and optimising.

The biggest challenge for test automation in the webmail environment is the multitude of browser versions and engines. With test automation, the Deutsche Telekom gets quick results about how their core functionalities behave, especially regarding changes to the software itself, the middleware or the back end systems. The fact, that Deutsche Telekom only works with companies who work according to German privacy laws, the existing framework contract and the offering of Device Cloud  encouraged them to work together.
