In Deutschland sind tausende von Menschen als Crowd Worker registriert. Sie übersetzen, generieren Ideen oder testen Software. In den letzten Jahren haben sich zahlreiche Varianten von Crowdsourcing, darunter auch das Crowdtesting von Apps und Webseiten, in Deutschland etabliert. Der Leitfaden Crowdsourcing des BITKOM gibt Unternehmensvertretern einen ersten Eindruck in die zahlreichen Möglichkeiten, die sich durch die Verfügbarkeit der Masse ergeben. Ein kurzer Auszug zum Thema Crowdtesting: S. 27Crowdbasiertes Software-Testing kommt überall dort zum Einsatz, so Software für den Endandwender entwickelt wird. Typischer Weise ist dies der Consumer Markt (B2C), jedoch bieten sich auch im Enterprise Umfeld Möglichkeiten (B2B). Mit Crowdtesting kann Software sowohl für den mobilen als auch für den stationären Bereich getestet werden.In Deutschland wird diese Methode momentan vor allem in zwei Bereichen Eingesetzt:

  • Usability Tests: Feedback von Endanwendern zur Bedienbarkeit einer Software
  • Funktionale Tests: Finden von funktionalen Fehlern (Bugs/Defects)

Innerhalb dieser Bereiche ist die Crowd in verschiedensten Phasen der Produktentwicklung einsetzbar:

  • Gestaltungsphase: Design
  • Konzeptphase: Prototypen Evaluation
  • Betaphase: Usability-Studien, Funktionale Tests
  • Pre-Release: Funktionale Tests
  • Post-Release: Konkurrenzanalyse, Feedback für nächstes Release/Updates
