Tweeting Birds Are the First Sign that Spring has Sprung

Spring is the time of the year when everything comes to life. At Testbirds, the spring came early! In mid-March, Testbirds received a round of Series A funding worth €2.1 million. The leading investor is the French venture capital firm Seventure Partners. TechCrunch, among other publications, featured an article on the investment based on their interview with Philipp, one of Testbirds’ co-founders and CEO.The investment allows us to strengthen our position as the leading crowdtesting provider in Europe. We will capitalize the funds to accelerate the European expansion, extend our existing services and add new solutions to the portfolio.Birdflight main The newest addition to our services is the free beta-app distribution platform BirdFlight, which was launched at the end of March. It enables app developers to upload their apps, create teams and invite their own testers, to which they can distribute their iOS and Android apps free of charge – all through one platform. BirdFlight offers team management to control downloads and will support an Android SDK for crash reports. An SDK for iOS will follow shortly after, along with extra features for both platforms.

The Early Bird Catches the Worm

Until now, our existing crowdtesting services have focused on managed-service and self-service, utilizing our own crowd of testers. By adding a free, basic solution to our existing portfolio, we are now offering a third service level to app developers.According to the founders, the launch of BirdFlight has been in the pipeline for a while now. They decided to speed up the process once TestFlight announced that they would be shutting down Android support as of March 21, following the acquisition by Apple.

External and Internal Expansion

Our aim for European expansion is to increase the existing team and set up national teams in our key markets within Europe. The Human Resource department is working hard to find the people that truly live the Testbirds spirit. This week we welcomed two new employees. Veronika Wasza joined the Marketing & PR department. She will be focusing on the German market along with Markus Steinhauser, our Marketing & PR Manager. With a solid background in PR, including PR agencies in Germany, Veronika will without a doubt be a valuable addition to the team.Tanya Priyank also joined our Project Management team. She has a degree in Business Administration, with major in International Marketing, from NMIMS University, a leading business school located in Mumbai, India. Tanya has performed for various stage and street play competitions and festivals and is determined to teach the Testbirds team how to dance Salsa and Bachata. The upcoming weeks we will be welcoming more birds to our nest. Although Testbirds moved into new offices in the beginning of this year, we are now expanding our office space in the current building to accommodate our new employees. With the summer coming up, Testbirds will keep on blossoming.Happy Spring! The early bird
