This prediction comes from the latest European Ecommerce Report and obviously, the numbers keep growing year after year. This means more people are shopping online, but at the same time, there’s also more competition in the B2C and B2B markets. 

That’s why having the best customer experience is getting more and more crucial and has become a game-changer in the online world. The reason why is simple – all competitors are doing their homework. Nearly everybody does on-page conversion rate optimisation and spends money on focus groups and other tools – to get into the minds of their target audience.

Black Friday: the spending spree that’s spreading

USA – the birth country of Black Friday and Cyber Monday – leads the pack when it comes to increased e-commerce sales on this day. As Criteo reports, Black Friday sales were 4.87 times higher than the October average in 2018. Also, more and more users are shopping on their phones – on Cyber Monday 2018 more than half of online sales in the US came from mobile devices. But it’s not only sales that rise on Black Friday – so does traffic. In 2018, traffic was 2.87 times higher in the US compared to the average for October. 

Europeans are also in the shopping mood. In Germany, sales on Black Friday in 2017 were 1.82 times higher compared to the following two weeks in November. In the UK this number is 1.61 and in the Netherlands it even shoots up to 4.38.
